I Love Disney - Aladdin

Question: Why didn't brad kane & lea salonga play the normal voices for aladdin & princess jasmine?

Brad Kane & Lea Salonga played the singing voices for Aladdin & Princess Jasmine. Scott Weinger & Linda Larkin played the normal voices for them. I know why they couldn't do the singing roles because they wouldn't be that good. But why couldn't Lea Salonga do the voice for Princess Jasmine the whole time? Why couldn't Brad Kane play the normal voice for Aladdin too? Why do they always need 2 actors for a character & not just use 1?

The regular voice actors were better than the singers for the non-singing parts. That is why the actors are actors and the singers are singers.
